1) Run Disk Cleanup
To delete temporary files:
In the search box on the taskbar, type disk cleanup, and select Disk Cleanup from the list of results.
Select the drive you want to clean up, and then select OK.
Under Files to delete, select the file types to get rid of. To get a description of the file type, select it.
Select OK.
If you need to free up more space, you can also delete system files:
In Disk Cleanup, select Clean up system files.
Select the file types to get rid of. To get a description of the file type, select it.
Select OK.
2) Change computer to optimize performance over visuals
In the search box on the taskbar, type Control Panel, and select Control Panel from the list of results.
Click the System category, then on the left menu bar that appears click Advanced system settings.
Under the Performance section click Settings…
Choose the radio button Adjust for best performance

3) Change Virtual Memory to above recommended
From the same Performance Options menu, click Advanced tab at the top.
Under the Virtual Memory section, click the Change… button.
On the bottom of the Virtual Memory menu you will see Total paging file size for all drives. If the currently allocated size is smaller than the Recommended go to step 4.

Uncheck the Automatically manage paging size for all drives
Under Custom Size set Initial Size to the recommended size. You can round up to be safe and under Maximum Size set the Initial size + 500mb.
Ex: If recommended equals 2924mb, then set Initial to 3000mb and Maximum to 3500mb
Click OK three times and Windows will prompt you to restart. Restart and enjoy your faster computer! 🙂
